WhatsApp Rolling Out ‘Frequently Forwarded’ Message Feature
Well, there are plenty of instant messaging apps available for Android like Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, etc. However, out of all those, it was the WhatsApp app that stands out from the crowd. WhatsApp is right now the most popular instant messaging app available for both Android and iOS devices. The instant messaging app is equally popular on both Android’s Google Play Store and the iOS app store. The instant messaging app, of course, WhatsApp provides users a wide range of features like voice calls, video calls, file sharing, etc. If you have been using WhatsApp for a while, then you might know that the app has been under pressure from the Indian government over uncontrolled spread of fake news. So, deal with the fake news, WhatsApp has just rolled out an impressive new feature known as ‘Frequently Forwarded’. If you are wondering how this feature works, then let me tell you WhatsApp will show you a notification with a double tick every time you try to forward a message that has been forwarded many times in a row before. WhatsApp Spokesperson said “We have recently introduced an update to our forwarded message label that helps people identify when they have received messages that were previously forwarded several times, such as a chain message. These highly forwarded messages will be marked with a double arrow icon, and users will receive a notification when they are forwarding such a message.” The company believes that the newly introduced feature, of course, Frequently forwarded will help users to develop a conscience and look for more information to figure out whether the message is authentic or not. Only after confirming, users can go ahead by forwarding the message further. The feature is still rolling out. Users just need to head to the Google Play Store and update the WhatsApp application.
